As part of the celebrations for the 2025 Jubilee Year, our dearly departed Pope Francis (RIP) blessed four statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome. We are honored to announce that one of these four statues will visit our Parish in Athenry from Friday, 6th June to Sunday, 8th June 2025
Over this special weekend, our parish and families will be consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and each household will receive a signed and blessed image of the Sacred Heart.
In addition, the first-class relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and St. Claude La Colombière will accompany the statue during its time in our parish
-
St. Margaret Mary was the saint to whom Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart and entrusted the associated devotions and promises
-
St. Claude was her confessor and spiritual director, who supported and spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart
