Great graces and blessings flowed from the Novena and Consecration to The Sacred Heart of Jesus on the weekend of 6th June 2025 in Athenry
With the consecration of Athenry Parish and all families/friends, and almost 2,000 signed and Blessed Images of The Sacred Heart distributed
Fr Dom Basil McCabe, a Benedictine monk, came from Paray-le-Monial with first-class relics of St Margaret Mary Alacoque and her spiritual director, Claude La Colombière
A display stand was set up to show images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the red lamps associated with the images throughout the years—beginning with the original image painted by Batoni in 1767, and documenting the changes in the images through the centuries
Friday evening began in the Church of the Assumption, Athenry, with the Celebration of Holy Mass by Fr Charlie McDonnell, Fr Benny McHale, Deacon Julian Drapiewski, and Fr Dom Basil McCabe. This included a talk on the revelation to St Margaret Mary about the great love of the Sacred Heart ❤️ of Jesus for each of us
This was followed by a beautiful night of candlelight guided Adoration until midnight with Anointed Music Ministry. Many remained in the church until midnight, while others came throughout the evening to write a petition, pray, adore Jesus, and take the opportunity to light a candle for their loved ones and leave it in front of the Blessed Sacrament
We were reminded of His great love for mankind and His desire for a return of His love. We were also encouraged to come to the Heart of Jesus for healing. When we come before the Eucharist, we meet with His Heart of love
Jesus drew many from the parish and beyond, reigniting the flame 🔥 of the great love of His Sacred Heart for us—and the promises attached to those who love and honour Him
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You
